Meetings and Assistance Programs

ILHEAP Utility and Weatherization Program

This utility assistance and weatherization program assists low income and disabled individuals. Income guidelines must be met and completed application must be submitted. What to bring to your appointment: copies of current gas and electric bills from last 4-weeks of usage, proof of household income, proof of citizenship (birth certificate, resident card), social security card and application card. Assistance will be available throughout the year and is free of charge.

Senior
Nutrition Program

Enjoy a hot, tasty & nutritional meal prepared by Sodexho and sponsored by Riverside County Office on Aging. Hot, nutritious meals are served Monday - Friday at 11:15 am. Suggested donation is $3 for those 60 and over and cost is $5 for those under 60. Reservations must be made one day in advance by calling (951) 270-5638 between 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. A meal delivery program is available for the homebound, frail and elderly seniors. Advisory Board S.T.A.R. Volunteers

These two important groups from the Norco Senior Center combine their efforts and meet to exchange ideas, comments and concerns regarding issues within the center. Groups receive information regarding special events and classes held at the Norco Senior Center in which they volunteer. Representatives from classes and groups meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. Refreshments are served. For more information on how to become a S.T.A.R. Senior Town Hall Meetings

Please call the Senior Center on the date of th next Senior Town Hall Meeting. Meetings are held quarterly at 12:30 p.m. in the Activity Room at the Center. Come meet with council representatives and learn about our community. Special guest speakers provide valuable information from health care to money saving tips! Meetings are free and open to all seniors 50 years and older. Refreshments are served. (951) 582-5540

Norco Seniors and Pets Breakfast

The Norco Seniors and Pets Relief Fund sponsors a breakfast and bingo on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Price of breakfast is $3.00 per person. Bingo runs from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. and costs 25 cents for 4 squares. All proceeds go to the Norco Seniors and Pets Relief Fund.

Brown Bag Program

This food assistance program is for qualified seniors. The fee for this program is a $6 donation and applications may be picked up at the Norco Senior Center. Food is distributed on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Food is subject to availability. Quantity, quality and selection may vary. Bags of food must be picked up on distribution day.

Senior Sewer Service Charge Assistance Program

Qualified seniors age 62 and older may receive $10.00 subsidy on their monthly sewer fees. Income limits apply. For more information, please call (951) 582-5540

USA Waste Discount Program

Provides for a reduction of the monthly rate for trash pick-up. This program is for low-income senior citizens 62 years of age or older or disabled. Income limits apply. For more information, please call (951) 582-5540.

Housing Accessibility Program

Elderly or disabled persons may receive a grant of up to $1,500 to improve accessibility to their home. Installation of ramps, grab bars, or modifications such as widening of doors

Animal Control Spay and Neuter Program

Senior citizens age 62 or older may contact Animal Control for financial assistance if your dog(s) need to be spayed or neutered. Remember: You will no longer be eligible for the senior citizen dog license rates if your dog(s) are not spayed or neutered. For more information, please call (951) 737-8972.
