City of Norco Cancels Citywide Curfew

The daily 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. citywide curfew, originally implemented within city limits on June 30, 2020, was cancelled by the Director of Emergency Services at 12 p.m. on July 2, 2020, and is officially no longer in effect.

Norco, CA – Due to civil unrest arising out of the protests and counter-protests related to the Black Lives Matter Movement (click here to learn more), the City of Norco has declared a local emergency existing throughout the entire city. As such, a daily curfew has been implemented within the city limits, effective June 30, 2020, between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. until cancelled by the Director of Emergency Services.

During the curfew, no person will be allowed in any public place with the exception of:

• Police, Fire, or Emergency Operations personnel

• Members of the National Guard or other responding military personnel

• People traveling to and from work

• Authorized members of the media

• Individuals seeking or providing emergency medical care

• Essential workers

• Individuals experiencing homelessness

*CITY COUNCIL MEETING CANCELLED

The Norco City Council meeting of Wednesday, July 1, 2020 has been cancelled to adhere to the citywide curfew that was enacted on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. Yesterday, the City of Norco declared a local emergency existing throughout the entire city due to civil unrest. As such, a daily curfew was implemented within the city limits between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. The curfew is in effect until it is officially cancelled by the Director of Emergency Services.
