Old Reservoir Replaced with Newer Model
The City of Norco Public Works Department is in the process of demolishing its oldest water storage reservoir, located behind Norco High School atop a hill along El Paso Road adjoining the former property of Wyle Laboratories. The existing 2.2 million gallon concrete reservoir will be replaced by a 3.0 million gallon steel reservoir in the same location. Steel construction provides greater durability and safety than concrete reservoirs, and are less costly to maintain. The new, larger reservoir will increase the City’s overall water storage capacity by 800,000 gallons, ensuring ample supply even as demand increases. The project, which is representative of a comprehensive effort to modernize the City’s infrastructure, is anticipated to be completed in early 2021.
