Tree Removal Notice

The City is undergoing a selective tree removal program and is removing certain trees because they have been classified by the City’s arborist as either dead, dying, diseased or deformed, and may pose risk to public and private property. The tree removals are being directed by the City and conducted by two entities, including Southern California Edison’s (SCE) contractor, which is focusing on the trees within the right-of-way of SCE power lines, and West Coast Arborist, which is removing all other designated trees in the public right-of-way. It is customary for either agency to provide a minimum of 48 hour notice of a tree removal, but in emergency situations no notice will be provided. The notice should include the three-to-seven day period of when the removals will likely be completed. Also, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., “No Parking Signs” will be posted due to the danger of falling limbs. Please do not park on the street until after the trees have been removed and the area cleaned. Additionally, due to the hazard of falling limbs, we ask that you keep children away from the area and clear your front yard of cars, furniture and other valuables prior to the pruning operation.
