Santa Ana River Mainstem Habitat Restoration Project Meeting
Representatives from the Santa Ana River Mainstem Habitat Restoration Project will present a project status update tonight, April 24, at 6 p.m. at Norco City Hall in the Administration Department. The representatives will also provide information about an upcoming community volunteer planting event that is scheduled on May 12 at the Corydon Staging Area from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.
The goal of this ongoing project, which is supported by the US Army Corps of Engineers and UltraSystems, is to reestablish the native habitat in the Santa Ana River by removing invasive, non-native bamboo-like plants, also known as Arundo. The City of Norco encourages the community to attend tonight’s meeting, as well as the volunteer planting event.
