New Storm Drain and Street Improvements Coming to Crestview Drive in Norco
The Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District recently announced the start of a long-planned major storm drain project in Norco entitled “Norco Master Drainage Plan (MDP) Line NA-1 & Lateral NA-1A Improvements.” This storm drain project is located on Crestview Drive, between Seventh Street and Sixth Street, and also includes improvements on Mount Shasta Drive.
This area of Norco has been significantly impacted by flooding due to runoff dirt and debris from the adjacent hillside. The purpose of the new storm drain system is to capture and control this runoff before it can impact downstream homeowners. In addition to the storm drain improvements, the District has agreed to construct full street pavement improvements on Crestview Drive from Seventh Street to Sixth Street. The City of Norco will primarily fund the street pavement improvements, although the District will contribute funding for half of the street improvements in the specific areas where the new storm drain pipeline is installed. Once the project is completed, Crestview Drive will have a much needed addition to the storm drain infrastructure and a newly paved roadway. Construction on this $2 million project is anticipated to begin on February 17 and will continue through mid-September 2019.
