Sixth Street Attracts New Development
Norco residents may have noticed some changes on the southeast corner of Sixth Street and Sierra Avenue...Approximately three acres of land have been cleared in preparation for the development of a new shopping center tentatively called Norco Gateway. Multiple properties were consolidated by Waypoint Development Group to create this opportunity, the largest assembly of land on Sixth Street since the construction of Norco Country Center (anchored by BootBarn).
This project will be anchored by a Grocery Outlet, and the developers have committed to Western architecture and public art consistent with Sixth Street’s prevailing theme. Taco Bell has also been announced as a tenant of the Center, and the developer is currently negotiating with other desirable tenants for a building envisioned as a food court concept, with multiple quick-service eateries sharing a common outdoor terrace.
The site has already been cleared and a wall has been constructed to buffer the residences adjoining the development from center’s activity. The developer is currently finalizing building and grading plans for approval so that building permits can be issued.
This project is envisioned to spur economic development on Sixth Street, which is ideally situated to accommodate a diversity of retail, dining and hospitality uses catering to both local residents and visitors. Stay tuned for additional information on this development and other Sixth Street projects as they take shape!
