City Council to Hold Educational Cannabis Study Session
On Tuesday, March 26, at 6 p.m., the City Council will hold an educational study session, open to the public, to examine current statutes and regulations relating to the cannabis industry. The City of Norco currently prohibits all cannabis activities, but since the passage of Proposition 64 in 2016, which legalized marijuana for recreational use, all cities in California have struggled with locally-appropriate strategies related to the regulation of such products. The City Council aims to thoroughly research this topic to ensure that Norco is able to exercise local control over this industry. David McPherson, Cannabis Compliance Director at HdL Companies and a leading authority in the field, will lead a discussion on the regulation of cannabis and what options are available to the City of Norco. The meeting agenda will be posted on the City’s website on Thursday, March 21. For more information, contact the City Clerk’s Office at (951) 270-5623 or email@example.com.
