New Sales Tax Rate Goes Into Effect in Norco
Posted on April 2, 2019
On April 1, 2019, the sales tax rate in the City of Norco increased from 7.75% to 8.75%. In the November 2018 General Election, Norco voters approved Measure R, which implemented the sales tax rate increase.
The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is responsible for the administration of the sales tax program, including the Measure R sales tax rate increase. The CDFTA notified all retailers in the City of Norco with reseller’s permits of the new sales tax rate. It is important to note that even if a retailer is not notified of the new sales tax rate by the CDTFA, the retailer is still responsible for collecting sales tax based on the rate that is in place at the time of the applicable sales transaction.
