Norco Animal Rescue Team Saves Two Horses in Santa Ana River

On April 19, the Norco Animal Rescue Team (NART), along with CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department and Norco Animal Control, made another dramatic rescue in the Santa Ana River bottom. At 11:32 a.m., two horses were reported stuck in the sand, a half-mile from the Corydon Staging Area. By 12:55 p.m., NART, CAL FIRE and Animal Control personnel had safely extracted the animals from their traumatic ordeal. No horses or riders were injured, but it could have been much different. Until further notice, residents are advised not to ride alone in the riverbed and to stay on obvious paths. For more information on NART, visit www.norco.ca.us/depts/fire/nart/default.asp
