Confusion Over Marijuana Delivery
There is some confusion about whether the delivery of marijuana products is permitted in the City of Norco, which currently bans all commercial cannabis activities. Pursuant to an interpretation of the Bureau of Cannabis Control (BCC), deliveries are permitted even in jurisdictions like Norco that strictly prohibit cannabis businesses. Approximately 20 California cities are challenging the BCC’s ruling and because this is still unsettled law, the City of Norco will continue to cite delivery vehicles entering the community. Solicitation of marijuana deliveries is strictly prohibited without a permit, and that activity will also be cited. If the BCC regulation stands, the City of Norco will need to make a decision on how it can regulate those deliveries. Until then, residents are advised to contact Code Enforcement at (951) 270-5684 or firstname.lastname@example.org if they observe delivery activity in the City or any solicitations for delivery.
Issues related to deliveries will be discussed as part of the presentation on Cannabis Regulations and Policies at the Town Hall Meeting on July 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Nellie Weaver Hall. For more information about the Town Hall Meeting, contact the City of Norco at (951) 270-5623 or email@example.com.
