Construction Continues at New Fuel Station on Hidden Valley Parkway
Posted: September 24, 2019
You may have noticed continued construction on the north side of Hidden Valley Parkway east of Yasment Street, another project contributing to a building boom in Norco. This will be the site of a new ARCO gas station/minimart/carwash, with the potential future addition of a quick-serve eatery within the convenience store. The developer worked very closely with the City and neighborhood residents to ensure that the station exhibits an inviting Western architectural style that reflects Norco’s equestrian heritage.
Commercial development, when properly managed, does not have to compromise the quality of life in a neighborhood. This project, for instance, features significant landscaping, block walls and LED lighting designed to reduce the impact of noise and light pollution on nearby residences. The existing horse trail on the north side of Hidden Valley Parkway will be improved by the developer and will continue to its connection with trails on Sedona Lane and Corona Avenue.
This development will block the connection of Corona Avenue to Hidden Valley Parkway, which has been temporarily blocked for several years due to neighborhood concerns about excessive pass-through traffic that would have occurred with the connection. What used to be a connected Corona Avenue will now simply be an entrance into the new development, with no access allowed further north. Only equestrian and pedestrian access between Hidden Valley Parkway and Sedona Lane will remain.
Not only will this development provide convenience to local residents and passersby, but will generate new sales tax dollars for the City of Norco, helping to maintain our community’s high quality of life.
