The goal of the Human Resources Department is to attract and retain highly qualified City workforce. This department is responsible for recruitment, training, compensation, workers compensation and risk management administration. Annually, Human Resources conducts approximately 25 recruitments for full and part-time positions, reviews more than 1500 applications, and processes between 200 and 350 Personnel Action Forms. Human Resources also manages employee training and development programs; administers the City's position classification, compensation, and benefits system; oversees equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs; ensures compliance with Federal and State mandates; and administers the workers' compensation, and health insurance plans.
