The Kathy Azevedo Spirit of Norco Recognition Program honors exceptional individuals who embody Kathy Azevedo’s bravery, patriotism, leadership and charisma, as well as her unwavering support and unconditional loyalty to Norco.

Every year, up to five recipients are recognized with a commemorative inscribed brick at the Kathy Azevedo Spirit of Norco Monument, located at the Arena Level of the Ingalls Event Center. The inscribed brick is unveiled during a special ceremony. These bricks serve as a permanent tribute to each recipient's legacy, with their names preserved for future generations.

Nomination Guidelines:

1. Nominee Eligibility:

• Nominees must be a past or present resident of Norco, living or deceased

2. Nominee Criteria (Must reflect one or more of the following qualities):

• Bravery, patriotism, leadership, and charisma, in the spirit of Kathy Azevedo
• Dedication to preserving Norco’s unique rural lifestyle
• Significant contributions to the development of City assets or community programs
• Selfless service to others in the Norco community

3. Nomination Process:

To nominate a deserving community member, submit a biography that outlines how the nominee meets the eligibility criteria (Items 1 & 2) to spiritofnorco@ci.norco.ca.us by March 1, 2025.

All members of the Norco community are encouraged to participate in this process and celebrate those who have left a lasting legacy. Together, let’s honor the individuals who embody the true spirit of Kathy Azevedo and continue to shape Norco’s future.
